Samsung: Page 4

Leaked renders of what appears to be Samsung's next flagship tablet surfaced this week showing a notch cut into the top edge of the display. No Samsung Galaxy Tab S or Tab A model has previously shipped with a notch, which makes this a genuine departure from the company's established design language. The renders have not been independently verified, and Samsung has not commented.

The most reliable signal that Samsung is working on a new SmartTag isn't a leaked spec sheet it's a pattern. Before Samsung announced the SmartTag2, the device appeared first in the Bluetooth SIG database, then in an FCC filing, per The Verge's July 2023 coverage. Neither filing appeared for a successor in the sources reviewed for this article. When one does surface, the hardware specs will be the least interesting thing in it. The field that actually matters is the app requirement buried in...

Samsung launched the Samsung Galaxy Card on Monday, its first-ever credit card in the United States, issued by Barclays US Consumer Bank on the Visa network. Public applications open July 22. A limited early-access window for select eligible customers began Monday, though Samsung has not specified what criteria determine eligibility.

Samsung Health is warning users that withdrawing consent for AI training will cut off cloud sync and trigger deletion of previously synced health data, except data Samsung is legally required to retain. The toggle began reaching users this week, and the core question the Samsung Health AI training opt-out raises is one Samsung has not publicly answered: does "deleted" refer to your entire health history, or only the copy Samsung stores through account sync?

One day before Galaxy Unpacked, the picture is about as clear as pre-announcement pictures get. Leaked marketing materials distributed by Evan Blass show the Galaxy Z Fold 8 images in full: a visibly shorter, squatter device that matches the 4:3 "wide Fold" form factor corroborated independently across multiple outlets this week. These images aren't notable because they're polished renders. They're notable because they confirm the shape, and taken together with supply-chain data, the shape...

Samsung is set to reveal the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Fold 8 Ultra, and Flip 8 at Galaxy Unpacked in London on July 22. Reporting from multiple outlets points consistently toward a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 price increase across at least some models, with the clearest jumps in the US Fold Ultra, Korean Flip 8 pricing, and high-capacity European tiers. The more complicated part: even where base MSRP appears flat, the effective launch-day cost could still be worse than last year if Samsung reduces the...

Samsung introduced the Galaxy Z Flip8, Galaxy Z Fold8, and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra on July 22, 2026, with larger batteries, thinner designs, and lower weights across parts of the lineup. The company's official Galaxy Z specifications list a 5,000mAh battery for the Fold8 Ultra, 4,800mAh for the Fold8, and 4,300mAh for the Flip8.

Strings pulled from Samsung firmware describe a dedicated settings page called "App screen zoom" that would let Galaxy users assign a different zoom level to individual apps, Android Authority reported today. The key detail in those strings: custom per-app settings would persist independently, so changing the system-wide zoom later wouldn't affect any app a user had already configured.

Samsung's "Free Double Storage" pre-order promotion may be about to cost buyers money. A report from Korean outlet Chosun claims Samsung will replace the Galaxy Z Fold 8 storage upgrade deal with a 50% subsidy, leaving Korean buyers paying an estimated 126,500 won—about $90 or £65 at current exchange rates—for the 256GB-to-512GB jump.

No research data was available to verify pricing, software commitments, battery results, or cover screen specifications at the time of writing. What follows is a decision framework built around the criteria that actually separate these phones, in the order they matter. Treat it as the architecture for your own research before committing flagship money to either device.

For the past several Galaxy S generations, the answer to "should I buy the S or S Plus?" has been some version of "only if the Ultra is too big or too expensive." The cameras were fine. The batteries were adequate. Nothing about them was wrong, exactly they just weren't interesting. A batch of Galaxy S27 camera and battery leaks published today suggests Samsung is aware of that problem and may be doing something about it.

A European pricing leak suggests Samsung will introduce two Galaxy Z Fold 8 models, including a new Ultra version that could cost as much as €2,799 with 1TB of storage.

Samsung just shipped silicon-carbon batteries in its new foldables for the first time. Now a credible Korean leaker says the same chemistry is being tested in the Galaxy S27 series, the phones that drive Samsung's actual volume. The Galaxy S27 silicon-carbon battery question isn't whether the technology works. It's whether Samsung puts it in the right phones at the right price.

High-quality renders published July 8 offer the clearest look yet at Samsung's expected Galaxy Z Fold 8. The images show a shorter, wider foldable that departs from the tall smartphone shape used by the Galaxy Z Fold 7, potentially making the new model easier to carry and use for games, media, and everyday apps.

Samsung may be considering one of its most notable Galaxy S camera changes in years. Early Galaxy S27 leaks suggest the standard models are being tested with Sony main sensors, while the rumored Pro and Ultra phones could receive higher-resolution ultrawide, telephoto, and selfie cameras.

The Galaxy S26 FE has turned up in the UL Demko certification database with confirmed support for 45W wired charging, a spec that would put Samsung's budget-oriented handset ahead of the base Galaxy S26, which is still expected to top out at 25W. The Galaxy S26 FE 45W charging leak covers six regional model numbers and aligns with Samsung's Super Fast Charging 2.0 standard, SamMobile and Android Headlines both reported this week. The same 45W ceiling appeared on the Galaxy S25 FE, meaning the...

Samsung posted record companywide results for the second quarter of 2026, but its smartphone business struggled to turn strong Galaxy sales into profit. The company reported KRW 171.5 trillion in consolidated revenue and KRW 89.5 trillion in operating profit, while higher component costs weighed on its mobile division.

The Galaxy Z Fold7 became Samsung's first book-style foldable to outsell its companion Flip model during a South Korean preorder period. Its share rose from roughly 40% in the previous generation to 60%, giving Samsung fresh evidence that buyers would choose the more expensive Fold when its design addressed the format's biggest usability problems.

A battery unit spotted in India's Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) database was an early piece of evidence pointing toward an unannounced Samsung earbud, according to an April report from Android Authority. Nothing in that listing, or in the app code that surfaced before it, confirms the Samsung ear-hook earbuds theory that has attached itself to the leak.

A leak posted today on X claims Samsung will open pre-reservations for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 as soon as July 8. The tip comes from a single source, Abhishek Yadav, and Samsung has not announced it. But a separate report noted that this year's pre-registration window is reportedly compressed to just a few days before the expected July 22 Unpacked event, 9to5Google reported two weeks ago, so the compressed timing fits. What matters before acting on that is understanding which device the reservation...

Samsung's Home Up module picked up a significant update today, adding configurable multi-finger gestures to Galaxy phones. The Samsung Home Up screenshot gesture is the headline addition: users running One UI 9 can now assign a finger-based capture action to a swipe, giving them an alternative to the palm swipe method Samsung phones have relied on for years, according to Android Authority.

Samsung is reportedly negotiating to raise its DRAM average selling prices by up to 20% for Q3 2026, TrendForce reported this week. That number is the headline. The cumulative picture is steeper: DRAM prices rose more than 90% quarter-over-quarter in Q1, with Q2 estimated at another 50–60% on top of that. TrendForce's broader market forecast for conventional DRAM already sits at 13–18% for Q3, and Samsung is reportedly pushing for the high end of that range and beyond.

A new leak suggests Samsung is preparing to give the Galaxy S27 Pro near-Ultra camera hardware and an Ultra-exclusive display feature, then power it with a Samsung-made Exynos chip across Asia, Europe, Australia, Africa, and Latin America. The Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro Exynos leak, reported this week by Android Authority and SamMobile, would make "Pro" a materially different product depending on which continent you buy it on. Snapdragon would go to US buyers only, per Android Authority, or to all...

Samsung's cardiovascular health story for Galaxy Watch has quietly changed direction. Samsung's June 4 Samsung Health preview emphasized new AI health tools, while a later Samsung Health notice positioned Blood Pressure Trends as the U.S. replacement for Vascular Load. It has not issued a broad public announcement, but Samsung Health is reportedly notifying U.S. users that Vascular Load will disappear with Samsung Health v7.0 and One UI 9 Watch.

The Galaxy S27 Ultra battery rumor that dominated Samsung coverage earlier this year was built on shakier ground than most headlines let on. A credible tipster has pushed back on the claim that the S27 Ultra will ship with a cell larger than 5,000mAh, and the original sourcing was already more conditional than downstream coverage acknowledged. The likeliest outcome: the Ultra ships with the same capacity Samsung has used across every Ultra model from the S20 through the S26, a streak now seven...

A Samsung Galaxy Glasses leak this week surfaced what appears to be a 27-second promotional video showing the device from multiple angles, and the footage tells only part of the story. The more revealing details come from a companion manager app and embedded code strings analyzed by SammyGuru, reported this week by Android Authority and Beebom: Samsung appears to be building a dedicated controller app for Galaxy Watches, while code strings in a Ring gesture plug-in reference starting and...

Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 may ship with a crease-less inner display and a fundamentally wider screen ratio, according to leak reporting from the past two months. If both changes land as rumored, they would address the two most persistent complaints about foldable inner screens: the ridge that runs down the center, and proportions too tall and narrow to feel like a real tablet. Samsung is expected to announce the lineup at Galaxy Unpacked on July 22.

A tipster with a decent track record has told SamMobile today that Samsung plans to announce the Galaxy Tab S12 Plus and Tab S12 Ultra in September 2026, placing the Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Plus and Ultra launch date roughly two months out. That claim lands on top of independent projections from Trusted Reviews and Notebookcheck, both of which flagged late summer 2026 five months ago based on Samsung's previous release patterns. Three outlets arriving at the same window by different routes is...

Samsung Messages stops working this month for most US Galaxy phone users on Android 12 or higher. Samsung's US support page cited July 6 as the shutdown date, according to PhoneArena, though Samsung's own end-of-service announcement directs users to check the app itself for their exact device-specific cutoff. Either way, the deadline is here.

Samsung may have accidentally surfaced the date for its next Galaxy Unpacked event. The Samsung Members app in Malaysia served up vouchers this week tied to unannounced foldables and wearables, both redeemable starting July 22 a date that an independent report had already named as the probable Unpacked window nearly two months earlier. No official invitation has been issued, but the convergence of a Samsung-operated promotional system and a prior independent report on the same specific date...

Ice Universe is claiming the wider Galaxy Z Fold 8 will weigh just 201g, undercutting the 215g Fold 7 and the 229g Huawei Pura X Max, Android Authority reported four weeks ago. That Galaxy Z Fold 8 specs leak would make Samsung's wide model dramatically lighter than anything the company has shipped in the foldable category. A second leaker who reportedly handled the hardware called the weight "unbelievable" and said the device "feels like a new beginning," 9to5Google reported last week.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra still is not official, but the evidence is getting harder to dismiss. FCC filings, WPC case certifications, and leaked case images all point to a two-model Fold 8 lineup in which Samsung's premium "Ultra" label may land on the more familiar, narrow book-style design.

Samsung's Galaxy A27 goes on sale July 14 at $349.99, a $50 jump over the Galaxy A26 it replaces. Android Police attributes the Samsung Galaxy A27 price increase largely to a RAM shortage, not to meaningful spec improvements. The timing makes the story stranger: when Samsung's Czech Republic website accidentally published the A27's product page two weeks before that report, it listed Samsung DeX as a supported feature. The page came down. DeX has not appeared in any confirmed launch materials...

Samsung is ending free access to its SmartThings API in October, and the users who will feel it are not the millions running the standard SmartThings app. They're the technically engaged users who built custom setups on top of the free API, and some of them have no practical way around the new Samsung SmartThings API fees. Android Authority confirmed this week that paid tiers take effect in October, including a $4.99-per-month personal plan for non-commercial individual developers, with free...

Samsung is ending free access to the SmartThings API, with paid subscription tiers targeting availability in October 2026. Samsung is describing it as a developer pricing update, but the users most likely to feel the new Samsung SmartThings API pricing aren't software companies with engineering budgets they're hobbyists and power users who've relied on the API as a bridge between Samsung's ecosystem and more open platforms like Home Assistant. Free access remains confirmed through Q3, so...

Samsung pushed One UI 7 theft-protection features to the Galaxy S23 series last year, a move that signals the company is still treating older flagships as active hardware worth securing. For S23 owners, the more immediate question is whether the most consequential security feature already on their phone, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Auto Blocker update, is actually switched on. It probably is. But "probably" is worth verifying.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE Plus is currently on sale for $434, down $216 from its $649.99 list price. That discount matters because the FE line's value proposition has always depended on price and at $649.99, the case for buying was genuinely mixed.

A poll embedded in an Android Authority column from last month drew 7,036 votes on a single question: are you satisfied with the Galaxy S26 Ultra Privacy Display? Strip out the 35% who hadn't used the phone, and 68% of actual owners said yes. That's the strongest positive signal yet for Samsung's most debated flagship feature, and it tells a more specific story than it first appears.

Samsung didn't announce the Galaxy S27 Pro. It filed for it. Three model numbers spotted this week in GSMA database documents, SM-S956U (Galaxy S27+), SM-S957B/DS (Galaxy S27 Pro), and SM-S958U (Galaxy S27 Ultra), put the Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro confirmed by name in a public regulatory record for the first time, according to SamMobile. The base model, SM-S952U, had already turned up in the same database two weeks ago, as GSMArena reported.

Samsung announced the Galaxy A27 5G today with confirmed specs, a July 3 release date, and no official pricing. What does exist on the pricing front is a leak: figures attributed to Roland Quandt, circulated two weeks ago by Notebookcheck and IntoMobile, put the A27 at €349 and €439 for the two main storage tiers. If those numbers hold, that's a €50 increase over what the Galaxy A26 cost at launch. Samsung has not confirmed them. GSMArena's launch coverage published today notes prices are still...
