Forum Thread: Samsung Kies Not Working with Windows 8

Are you using the latest version of Kies?

I pretty sure I am.

Did you try it in compatibility mode with XP SP3?

Still not working.

Try this then. Go to C:/Program Files/Samsung/Kies
and find the "Kies.exe.config". Open it with NotePad and find the line:

<supportedRuntime version="v4.0" />

Highlight it and delete it. Save the file with NotePad. Then try Kies again.

Also give this a try too. Go back into the directory I outlined above and delete these lines:

<supportedRuntime version="v4.0" />
<supportedRuntime version="v2.0.50727" />

Press save with NotePad. Try Kies.

THANKS! this worked perfect for me. It wouldnt save the file thru notepad, so i had to save to desktop and then copy over and give admin approval to do so. (but I'm on a domain, so thats probably why)
