With only a month left until Samsung's highly-anticipated Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are released to the general public, it's only natural that some of the devices' features slowly trickle out, like Edge notifications, the new Smart Remote app, and, of course, wallpapers.

Another feature you can have right now is called Smart Switch, which allows you to easily move content from your old iPhone or Android device to your brand new Galaxy S6, or in this case, any Galaxy series device. It was previously released on the Galaxy S4, and there is a version already available on Google Play, but the Galaxy S6's version is an updated one.

Download Smart Switch

Go ahead and download the Samsung Smart Switch Mobile APK (taken from XDA) onto you Samsung Galaxy device, then install like you would any other APK (make sure "Unknown sources" is checked, if not already.) You need to install it on both Android devices, or if you're switching from an iPhone, just the newer Galaxy device.

Once the app is opened, you've got to select what type of transfer you want to make—either "iOS to Galaxy" or "Android to Galaxy"—and we'll cover both briefly below.

Transferring Media from Android to Galaxy

On your older Android device, select to "Send Content." On your newer Galaxy device, select "Receive Content." The app uses an audio signal to pair devices, so make sure they are close together.

On your older device, when it comes to content, you can send everything from contacts to call logs and photos and movies. Check the box next to what you want to transfer over and hit "Send."

Depending on the size of the files, the process will take either a few seconds or several minutes.

Transferring Media from iOS to Galaxy

If you're transferring media from an iPhone to a Galaxy, the process is a little different. You can either import from your iCloud account, or you can connect both devices using a USB OTG cable.
