Samsung's stable One UI 9 update is now reaching the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy Z Fold 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7, with the rollout confirmed live in South Korea, according to Android Authority. It's the next phase of a staged rollout that started with the Galaxy S26 family, and it puts Samsung's 2025 flagship lineup on the same Android 17 build already running on the newer S26 and Z8 devices.
The rollout isn't identical across devices. Galaxy S25 owners in Korea are receiving the stable update whether they participated in the One UI 9 beta or are coming directly from One UI 8.5, while current Fold 7 and Flip 7 reports indicate beta-enrolled devices are receiving the stable build first.

Stable Android 17 is reaching the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra in Korea under firmware version S93xNKSUCDZIF, according to Android Authority. Samsung's own Korean firmware page now confirms the S25 Ultra build, its Sept. 28 release date, Android 17, and the Sept. 5, 2026 security patch.
File size depends heavily on where you're starting from. Beta testers moving from the last One UI 9 beta build to the finished stable version are seeing a download of roughly 535MB, while anyone jumping straight from One UI 8.5 and Android 16 is looking at a much bigger package, closer to 3,851.56MB based on a Galaxy S25 Ultra screenshot Android Authority reviewed. Don't panic if your download bar looks nothing like what a beta tester posted online; the two paths aren't comparable.
The Galaxy S25 FE has also joined the stable rollout in South Korea. Samsung had listed it as eligible for the One UI 9 beta earlier this month, and reports now place the FE alongside the S25 Edge and core S25 models in the Sept. 28 stable wave.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 One UI 9 update rolls out in Korea
Samsung is also pushing the stable release to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 in Korea. The Fold 7 build weighs 534.56MB for beta users and carries firmware version F966NKSUCCZIH, according to Android Authority.
Samsung's own firmware page now confirms F966NKSUCCZIH as the Galaxy Z Fold 7's Sept. 28 One UI 9 release, based on Android 17 with the Sept. 5 security patch.
What's notable here is the pace. These two foldables only entered the One UI 9 beta program earlier this month, alongside the Galaxy S25 line, so the jump from beta to stable happened within the same month.
The rollout distinction still matters for the foldables. Current reporting indicates beta-enrolled Fold 7 and Flip 7 devices are receiving the stable build first. If you signed up for the beta in Korea, check your update screen now. If you didn't, there isn't yet enough reporting to say every retail Z7 device has joined the same wave.
One UI 9 stable rollout in Korea is not yet a US release
Stable One UI updates commonly begin in South Korea before expanding to additional regions, and that pattern is playing out again here. Samsung itself notes that software availability and timing can vary by market.
The beta program that preceded this stable release covered India, Korea, the UK, and the US, according to Samsung U.K. Newsroom. Being on that beta list doesn't guarantee those same four markets get the stable build at the same time.
Regional staggering showed up with the S26 rollout too. Samsung Global Newsroom announced the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra rollout beginning Sept. 16, while availability subsequently expanded by market and carrier.
Samsung's Thailand newsroom had identified the Galaxy S25 series and Z7 foldables among the models scheduled to receive One UI 9 within September. GSMArena reported an earlier version of that schedule listing Sept. 28 for the S25 and Z7 devices and saying the rollout would continue to the Galaxy S23 FE by October.
Samsung hasn't announced a stable-release date for the S25 or Z7 series in the US, UK, or India specifically. Owners in those markets can check Settings > Software update periodically, but there's no firm country-specific timetable to rely on yet. Treat Korea's launch as confirmation that the stable update is live, not as a countdown clock for your own phone.
What Samsung's One UI 9 Android 17 rollout confirms, and what it doesn't
Samsung frames One UI 9 around a more seamless cross-device experience alongside enhanced Galaxy AI it describes as "richer, more personal, and more helpful," per Samsung Global Newsroom. That's company marketing language, worth treating as a claim rather than an independently verified benchmark.
One feature with more specific documentation is Privacy Alerts, which Samsung lists as supported on the Galaxy S25, S25 FE, Z Fold 7, and Z Flip 7, among other devices. Samsung says the feature uses on-device AI to identify potential privacy risks such as unnecessary attempts to access permissions in the background, but adds that Privacy Alerts "may not account for all relevant factors."
Scam Detection is a different story. Samsung says the feature is expanding to additional countries and languages, with Japan, Canada, and India named as supported expansion markets. Availability can still vary by country, region, language, device model, and One UI version.
Still missing from Samsung's broader rollout material is a simple device-by-device feature comparison showing which One UI 9 functions reach the S25, Z Fold 7, and Z Flip 7 versus the newer S26 and Z8 lines. Samsung's own firmware documentation also warns that exact changes can vary by model, country, and service provider.
Whether One UI 9 is waiting on your phone right now therefore depends on your region, model, and in some cases your beta enrollment status.
If you own a Galaxy S25, S25+, or S25 Ultra in Korea, both beta and non-beta installations are now documented. Fold 7 and Flip 7 reports are still centered on beta users. And if you're updating a core S25 model directly from One UI 8.5, expect a download closer to 3.8GB rather than the roughly 535MB package beta testers are seeing.
