Samsung hasn't announced the Galaxy S27 series, and nothing in the reports reviewed for this article ties these model numbers to that lineup officially.

If a phone purchase hinges on faster charging, this listing alone shouldn't move the needle. It connects two model numbers to two power profiles and says nothing official about branding, release timing, or real-world performance. Anyone shopping now should judge current Galaxy models on their confirmed specs rather than a leak tied to a device expected in February 2027.

What the Galaxy S27 3C certification listing shows

Tipster Abhishek Yadav spotted two model numbers, SM-S9520 and SM-S9560, in China's 3C database, per Beebom. The listing doesn't use commercial names, and the numbering is expected to correspond to the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27 Plus based on Samsung's usual sequencing.

The model believed to be the Galaxy S27, SM-S9520, lists power profiles of 5V/2A, 9V/1.67A, and 9V/2.77A. The model believed to be the Galaxy S27 Plus, SM-S9560, adds higher profiles including 10V/4.5A and 15V/3A, per NokiaMob and SamMobile.

Do the math and 9V at 2.77A works out to roughly 25W, and 15V at 3A comes out to about 45W, the same conversion Beebom used to translate the raw certification numbers. Both figures match the currently shipping Galaxy S26 (25W) and Galaxy S26 Plus (45W) exactly, according to SamMobile.

Several outlets, including SamMobile, Android Authority, and Beebom, reported on the same underlying 3C entries. That's several publications amplifying one leak, not several independently confirming Samsung's plans.

How the alleged S27 numbers stack up against current Galaxy phones

Here's how the reported figures compare with what Samsung already sells:

The pattern goes back further than one generation. Samsung has held its standard Galaxy S model at 25W since the Galaxy S20 launched in 2020, per Android Authority. The Plus line has sat at 45W since the Galaxy S22 Plus introduced that speed in 2022, according to Beebom. If the leak proves accurate, the Galaxy S27 Plus would mark a fifth straight generation stuck at 45W.

What the certification doesn't confirm

The listing shows supported power profiles, not a full charging test. It doesn't reveal charge time, battery capacity, or the actual charging curve a phone follows from empty to full.

No official battery figures exist for the standard Galaxy S27 or Galaxy S27 Plus. 9to5Google reported earlier this year that battery rumors so far cover only the Galaxy S27 Ultra and a rumored Galaxy S27 Pro, with nothing on the base or Plus models yet. If either gets a larger battery without a higher charging ceiling, a full charge could take longer than it does on the current S26 and S26 Plus, not shorter.

Beebom reports Samsung is expected to bring silicon-carbon batteries to the Galaxy S lineup next year, following their debut in the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series. That expectation applies to the lineup broadly and hasn't been tied to specific battery sizes for the standard S27 or S27 Plus, so treat it as a separate rumor rather than a confirmed spec for these two models.

The 3C listing also doesn't establish that every regional variant will ship with identical charging limits, and it doesn't lock in commercial names. Treating SM-S9520 and SM-S9560 as confirmed Galaxy S27 hardware remains an inference based on Samsung's typical numbering pattern, not a confirmed mapping.

No charger confirmed for Chinese units, other Galaxy S27 charging specs still unverified

The reported Chinese listings show a USB-C cable without a power adapter, according to NokiaMob and SamMobile. That doesn't confirm the contents of every regional retail package, though it would continue what Samsung has done with recent flagships globally. Buyers who don't already own a USB-C PD or PPS compatible charger may need to buy one separately to actually hit 25W or 45W.

Two other rumors floating around this leak point to different parts of the lineup, and they're worth keeping separate from the base and Plus figures above. SamMobile reports that a Galaxy S27 Ultra and a rumored Galaxy S27 Pro could feature 60W charging, matching the jump Samsung already gave the Galaxy S26 Ultra earlier this year. Android Authority separately reports the whole S27 series may add internal magnets for MagSafe-style accessory attachment, with wireless charging staying at 15W on the standard model and 20W on the Plus.

Neither claim comes from the 3C filing covering the base and Plus models, and both need independent confirmation before they factor into a buying decision. None of the reports include an explanation from Samsung for why wired charging speeds would stay flat if the leak proves accurate.

What to do next

Right now the filing is a credible signal, not a final Galaxy S27 charging spec. It's a real database entry tied to real model numbers, but it stops short of confirming commercial names, global availability, or how these phones actually perform on a charger.

Buying a Galaxy phone now, weigh the Galaxy S26 FE's confirmed 45W against the leaked 25W figure for the standard S27. A newer model number doesn't automatically mean faster charging, and today the FE's spec sheet looks stronger on paper.

Waiting specifically for the Galaxy S27, treat 25W and 45W as an early signal worth tracking, not a locked spec. Hold off on judging the charging experience until Samsung publishes official numbers and independent reviewers test real-world charging times closer to the expected February 2027 launch, per Beebom.
