Samsung has pushed out Home Up version 18.0.00.38, a Good Lock update fixing two home screen glitches on Galaxy devices running One UI 9: DIY Home layouts that changed on their own and Stack Widgets that displayed incorrectly. If you use DIY Home Screen on a Galaxy device running One UI 9, open Good Lock, check the installed Home Up version, and install 18.0.00.38 if it's offered for your device.

A Galaxy tablet owner asked Samsung Community how to reorder "the first 6 buttons" on their Quick Panel, and the reply pointed to a setting called Edit top quick settings. Samsung now documents that option in its official support materials for newer Galaxy devices, although the exact menu layout can vary by software version and model. For One UI 7 users, the key distinction is between editing the full Quick Panel and customizing the shortcuts shown in the combined notifications view.

Samsung has started pushing a second Galaxy S26 October 2026 update, and so far only phones in South Korea have been reported receiving it, according to Android Headlines and SamMobile. The update covers the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra, weighs about 580.37MB, and arrives without a public changelog explaining what it does.

So, how much are old Samsung phones worth? In an Oct. 23 snapshot, a like-new 256GB Galaxy S23 Ultra could bring a top cash buyback offer of $291, compared with a reported average completed sale price of $404 on Swappa, before fees. That's a $113 difference for handling the sale yourself instead of accepting a buyback offer, according to Engadget.

A blue indicator has started showing up in the status bar on Samsung Galaxy phones running One UI 9, and it has one job: flagging when an app is actively accessing your location.

Samsung Community goes offline on Oct. 30 for about 72 hours, and the platform migration behind the shutdown could leave users without direct messages, drafts, bookmarks, or subscriptions they haven't backed up, according to Samsung's official notice.

There's still no confirmed Samsung Galaxy T1 earbuds release date, price, or official product name. But the unannounced SM-R545 has now cleared wireless certification in two countries within about a month, evidence that the product is moving through Samsung's regulatory pipeline rather than sitting idle, according to SammyGuru.

Samsung's U.S. support page has a gap where cheaper screen repair used to sit. Crack the inner display on a Galaxy Z Fold8 today, and the only listed fix is a $579 "Screen Module Replacement" bundling the screen, bezel, and battery together, because the narrower repair tier Fold7 owners can still choose for $449 isn't offered on the new phone (AndroidPure, two months ago). That number is the clearest data point in the Galaxy Z Fold 8 vs iPhone Duo cost debate right now: one phone carries a...

That pricing already lands above what's been reported for Apple's iPhone Duo in China, according to Android Headlines.

Finished installing a One UI update? The "Software Update Complete" notice only confirms the operating system installed. It says nothing about whether Google Play Store or Galaxy Store have caught up too, which is why knowing how to update Samsung apps after a One UI update means checking both stores manually instead of trusting that one notification to cover everything.

Samsung's internal testing reportedly found the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 overheating and throttling in Galaxy S27 Ultra prototypes, fueling talk of a switch to Samsung's Exynos 2700 chip.

Samsung's stable One UI 9 update, built on Android 17, started reaching US Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 units on Oct. 2 following an earlier stable release in South Korea. The rollout began with select carrier models and has since expanded to unlocked phones and additional US carriers.

There's no universal best time to charge a Samsung Galaxy Watch. Generally, an optimal charging schedule is something you have to monitor yourself, and that premise holds up here: the right window depends on whether you track sleep, how much battery you're carrying into the evening, how fast your specific model refills, and when you're reliably inactive during the day. The four-question framework below turns that idea into something you can actually use.

Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2 owners have spent the past two months watching full charges stretch to two, three, even four hours, well beyond Samsung's advertised charging times for the Watch9 and the Watch Ultra2 in fast-charging mode. Samsung separately lists a 190-minute normal-charge time for the Ultra2.

Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra battery life test results are in, and they complicate the easy spec-sheet story. The phone jumped to a 5,000mAh battery using silicon-carbon technology, the biggest capacity increase in the Fold line's history, and it beat last year's model in nearly every Android Authority test scenario. It didn't improve by as much as the extra 600mAh might suggest, though.

Samsung announced a new SmartThings platform update on October 5, 2026, built around a feature called SmartThings Now that moves automation suggestions to the top of the Home tab instead of leaving them buried in menus and submenus. The Samsung SmartThings Now update also redesigns the Home tab layout, adds a Floating Bar for one-handed use, and expands local hub-to-phone control.

The Galaxy S26 price increase took effect October 1 and followed earlier increases in India and South Korea (SamMobile, 3 days ago).

Galaxy devices running One UI 9 will wipe themselves after 13 failed lock screen attempts, a hard limit confirmed by a Samsung support document and reported by Android Authority today. Not a temporary lockout. Every photo, app, and setting on the device gets erased, accounts are signed out, and the phone returns to factory condition.

Samsung is going bigger again with the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, a 14.6-inch Android flagship built around a massive OLED display, an included S Pen, expandable storage, and desktop-style multitasking. Samsung's next top-tier device is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2027.

But newer reports have complicated the story, raising questions about when the changes might arrive and whether Samsung intends to retire the One UI name at all.

A new leak claims four Samsung Galaxy S27 price points: $899 for the base model, $1,099 for the Plus, $1,299 for a new Pro tier, and $1,399 or $1,499 for the Ultra, according to PhoneArena's October 9 report.
