Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy Tab S12 series is coming in the second half of 2026, but it hasn't announced the exact lineup, specifications, pricing, or launch date.
A fast-moving pile of leaks now says the Galaxy Tab S12 Plus and Ultra are close. Marketing renders, a benchmark listing, and purported EU Energy Labels point to an October 7 launch, a switch to a new chipset, and a modest refresh rather than a redesign.
None of those details are official yet, so the real question for anyone eyeing an upgrade is whether the changes described in the Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Plus and Ultra leaks are worth planning around before Samsung confirms them.
The source picture is worth keeping in mind before diving in.
The detailed specifications trace mainly back to WinFuture and leaker Roland Quandt, while Evan Blass has published additional apparent marketing renders and an image pointing to October 7. A Geekbench listing under model number SM-X940 supports the chipset claim.
Separately, Quandt shared what he described as Samsung-sourced EU Energy Labels for several Tab S12 variants. Android Authority reported on those labels, but the cited coverage doesn't establish them through a public Samsung product page or official launch announcement.
Treat this as a strong cluster of leaks, not multiple independent confirmations from Samsung.
What's Changing on the Galaxy Tab S12 Plus and Ultra, and What's Staying the Same
Both tablets reportedly keep the familiar aluminum unibody design, flat sides, IP68 protection, and magnetic S Pen mounting area under the rear cameras.
That reads as continuity rather than a redesign.
The bigger change is under the hood.
Both models are said to move to MediaTek's 3nm Dimensity 9500, paired with LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.0 storage, according to SamMobile and WinFuture's specifications.
That's a real platform change for the tablets if it ships, but it's still leaked hardware until Samsung publishes the final specifications.
Software and colors look similarly incremental.
Both tablets are expected to ship with Android 17 and One UI 9.0 in Gray and Silver.
Both are also reported to keep a microSD slot supporting up to 2TB of expandable storage.
RAM reportedly starts at 12GB across the lineup. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra's top 1TB configuration is expected to move to 16GB.
Samsung has not officially confirmed the seven-year software-support period reported alongside these specifications.
Current Galaxy Tab S11 or older Galaxy Tab owners shouldn't treat the chipset change alone as a settled upgrade case.
A processor swap on paper doesn't tell you how the tablets handle sustained load, DeX multitasking, thermals, battery life, or the actual One UI 9 experience once retail hardware arrives.
Galaxy Tab S12 Plus and Ultra Renders: Sizing Up the Two Models
The size and weight gap looks like the clearest reason to choose one model over the other.
The Galaxy Tab S12 Plus is reportedly built around a 12.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 2800 x 1752 resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.
Its reported weight is 555g.
There was no Galaxy Tab S11 Plus last year. Samsung's 2025 flagship lineup consisted of the 11-inch Galaxy Tab S11 and 14.6-inch Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, so the more useful historical comparison for the returning Plus size is the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus, which weighed about 571g.
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra reportedly keeps a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, 2960 x 1848 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and familiar front-camera notch.
Its leaked weight is 693g, effectively unchanged from the 692g Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra Samsung lists officially.

The reported dual-speaker setup on the Plus is worth watching because older high-end Galaxy Tab Plus models have used four-speaker systems.
Storage is more settled in the latest specification leak than earlier reports suggested.

Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra Specs Leak: What the Benchmark and EU Labels Do and Don't Show
A Geekbench 7 listing under model number SM-X940 shows a Samsung tablet with a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 and 12GB of RAM.
Tech Advisor reported scores of:

The outlet's own Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra scored 8,488 in the multi-core test, putting the leaked Tab S12 Ultra result roughly 9% to 10% higher.
That's one benchmark listing, not a verified retail-unit test.
It says nothing about GPU performance, thermal throttling, battery efficiency, or sustained workloads.
Tech Advisor also compared the leaked result with its RedMagic Astra 2 testing, where a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 device scored materially higher.
That still doesn't establish which platform performs better overall. A single CPU benchmark can't answer questions about graphics, sustained performance, heat, or software optimization.
The purported EU Energy Labels offer a different kind of data.
According to images shared by Roland Quandt and reported by Android Authority, they list:

Those figures use the EU's standardized labeling methodology, assuming the labels are authentic.
They should not be read as 80 to 89 hours of ordinary screen-on use. EU battery-endurance labels use a prescribed test process designed to make devices comparable under the same methodology.
The labels also don't tell buyers what a screen replacement will cost, how easy common repairs will be in practice, or what battery life will look like under gaming, DeX, video editing, or constant cellular use.
Those questions still need hands-on testing.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra Price, Release Date, and Where Reports Disagree
The October 7 date remains a leak.
Samsung has officially confirmed only that the Galaxy Tab S12 family is coming in the second half of 2026.
Evan Blass posted apparent Galaxy Tab S12 imagery carrying the October 7 date, and multiple outlets now expect Samsung to announce the tablets then.
9to5Google notes that the date could represent the launch, but Samsung itself hasn't put an October event on the calendar for these tablets.
US pricing leaks are relatively consistent.

Regional pricing shouldn't be converted directly into US dollars and treated as evidence of US MSRP because taxes, market positioning, and configurations differ.
What About the S Pen?
S Pen bundling is one area where individual leak summaries have looked inconsistent.
One WinFuture-derived specification table left the Ultra's accessory field blank while explicitly listing an S Pen for the Plus.
That doesn't necessarily mean the Ultra ships without one.
Other leaked imagery clearly shows an S Pen alongside the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, and multiple SamMobile reports say both models will include the stylus.
The latest Android Authority marketing-material leak also describes the familiar magnetic S Pen charging area on both tablets.
That makes an included S Pen look likely for both models, but Samsung's retail listings are still the source that should settle the question.
The Leaked Renders Need One Important Caveat
Some of the newest images look like official Samsung marketing material, but they aren't necessarily untouched original press files.
Android Authority reports that WinFuture said Samsung uses invisible digital watermarks on internal material, so the published images were reproduced using Gemini from freely available original content.
That means the renders can be useful for understanding the general design, but shouldn't be treated like pixel-perfect official product photography.
Other leaked images from Evan Blass and previous sources show essentially the same design direction, including the Ultra's notch and dual rear cameras.
So the broad shape appears consistent across leaks even if some individual renders have been reconstructed.

Buyers deciding between the two leaked models should treat the Plus as the more portable option and the Ultra as the maximum-screen, four-speaker, higher-storage choice.
And anyone tempted by the leaked $1,199.99 and $1,399.99 starting prices should wait until Samsung publishes the real store pages.
The leaks are unusually detailed now, but specifications that look finished on September 24 are still not the same thing as a product Samsung has officially put on sale.
