Samsung One UI 9 Rollout Schedule: Galaxy S25, Foldables
Samsung's One UI 9 rollout schedule moved forward on September 16, when the company began pushing the stable update to the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra in Korea, according to Samsung's Global Newsroom. Samsung says the software had already rolled out to the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8, and Flip8 before that S26 expansion began. For the Galaxy S25 series, the Z Fold7, the Z Flip7, and older foldables like the Z Fold6 and Z Flip6, Samsung has not attached a stable-release date.
That distinction matters more than the headline announcement. Here's what's confirmed for each device tier, what's still an outside estimate, and what to check before assuming an update is close.

For the One UI 9 eligible devices named so far, Samsung is keeping stable rollout and beta access on two separate tracks, with no published date connecting one to the other. The company's language stops at saying the update "is expected to gradually roll out to other Galaxy devices," without naming an order or timeline (Samsung Mobile Press, this week).
The One UI 9 update for Galaxy foldables currently splits the same way: newer foldables already running the software, older ones absent from every list Samsung has published. The Z Fold6, Z Flip6, Z Fold5, and Z Flip5 don't appear in either the stable rollout or the beta expansion. The only place Samsung names them at all is a feature-compatibility list confirming its new Privacy Alerts tool works on those models, alongside the S26, S25, S24, and S23 families and several Tab S tablets. That confirms one feature's device support. It is not a One UI 9 eligibility or rollout announcement (Samsung Global Newsroom, this week).
The Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 did receive Samsung's prior software update, One UI 8.5, when that rollout began in Korea earlier this year (Samsung Global Newsroom, earlier this year). That history doesn't erase their absence from the current schedule, and it isn't evidence for when, or whether, they'll get this update. Samsung simply hasn't said.
Owners of unlisted devices can check Settings > Software Update, but as of this week Samsung has not announced a One UI 9 build for the Z Fold6, Flip6, Fold5, or Flip5.
Galaxy S25 One UI 9 update: what the beta actually offers
Samsung's beta announcement lists the S25 program as available in India, Korea, the U.K., and the U.S. through the Samsung Members app (Samsung Newsroom U.K., two weeks ago). That's the outlet's estimate based on past patterns, not a Samsung commitment. Samsung's own materials stop at "gradually roll out," with no second-wave date attached to any device.
What One UI 9 actually changes, and where availability narrows
Samsung's announcement leads with Galaxy AI features. Now Brief gains Generative and Editable Cards for customizing daily summaries, and My FanCam automatically reframes recorded video to keep a chosen subject centered as a scene moves (Samsung Mobile Press, this week). Samsung also describes a redesigned Warranty and Care section in Settings, letting users check device warranty status, run self-diagnostics, view repair estimates, and manage Samsung Care+ without leaving the menu. Now Nudge is meant to surface more context-aware suggestions across the Galaxy experience, and Creative Studio can now suggest image-generation ideas tied to upcoming events, according to Samsung's release notes.
Other additions target everyday tasks. Samsung says Interpreter now includes a Thread View for following translated conversations by referencing earlier exchanges, Document Scan handles curved book pages and folded corners with less manual adjustment, and Voice Recorder formats summaries with headings and tables for easier scanning.
Security gets its own attention too. Security Brief surfaces malware and permission warnings inside Now Brief, and Privacy Alerts uses on-device AI to flag apps making unnecessary background permission requests (Samsung Mobile Press, this week).
Not every feature travels with the update, though. Scam Detection is expanding this cycle, but Samsung limits it to Japan, Canada, and India, and the company's own release notes state that "availability may vary by country, region, language, device model, or OS/One UI version" (Samsung Mobile Press, this week). Getting the One UI 9 build confirms a device has updated software. It doesn't confirm every feature in Samsung's announcement will show up on that specific device or in that specific region.
What to do now
S26 and Fold8/Flip8 owners can check Settings > Software Update now. Samsung has not promised simultaneous worldwide availability, so the update may reach some regions before others.
S25, Z Fold7, and Z Flip7 owners in a supported market can enroll in the beta through the Notices section of Samsung Members, though that means running pre-release software ahead of any stable release Samsung has not yet dated.
Z Fold6, Z Flip6, Z Fold5, and Z Flip5 owners should treat Samsung Members and Settings as monitoring tools, not signals that an update is close. Until Samsung names those models in a rollout or beta announcement, there's nothing on the calendar to wait for yet.
