About a year ago, Abode decided to discontinue support for Flash on the Android platform. With its security concerns, it's understandable why some people would want to disable Flash on their devices, but there are still some things you can't do without it. Amazon Instant Videos is one thing you can't do, giving you nothing but a "Flash Player is not installed" warning.
So, for today's softModder guide, I'm going to show you the ridiculously easy way to install it yourself on your Samsung Galaxy S3. This will enable you to watch Flash videos and even play a few touch optimized Flash-based games (not all Flash games will work).
Step 1: Enable "Unknown Sources" Installation
Since Flash is no longer available in the Google Play Store, we're going to have to find and install it ourselves. That means enabling installation from "Unknown sources".
To do so, go to Menu -> Settings -> Security and check Unknown sources.
Step 2: Download Flash Player from Adobe
Thankfully, Adobe keeps an online archive of previous versions of their Flash software. On your GS3, simple click on this link to download the newest version of the Adobe Flash Player APK file (11.1.115.63).
Step 3: Install Adobe Flash
Use your file browser to navigate to your downloads folder, or wherever you placed the file, and select it. Or, just tap the download in your notification drawer.
Now, install it like any other app, and you're done. You'll notice that you now have Flash Player Settings in your app drawer.
Step 4: Use Flash!
Keep in mind, if you use Chrome as your browser, Flash will not work whether it's installed or not. If you insist on using Chrome, you can download Flashify, a free app that allows you to use an alternative browser, like Firefox for Android (which does work with Flash), when you encounter Flash on a website.
That's it, your device is now fully Flash capable.

Mega thanks.
Just did this...now of course I can't think of what to pull up that uses flash to see if it worked lol smh
Yea same issue, but it's nice to have when you need it.
After downloading adobe I got a message saying "a plugin is needed to display this content."
I got the same massage
I have unknown sources enabled and downloaded the appropriate package, but for some reason at the install screen, in the 'install' button does nothing when pressed. Only the cancel button has functionality
That didn't work. I followed the link to the video I wanted to watch that was flash and it is still telling me I need a plugin. I tried opening flash to see if there was a setting to enable it and it just gave me the need plugin error. Frustrated.
Great!
"Keep in mind, if you use Chrome as your browser, Flash will not work whether it's installed or not."
Too bad this want a bold don't now, just above step 1...would have saved me some time
same problem as Jeremy. the install button is non-responsive.
any suggestions?
Please try it from this link and let me know if that works for you.
Worked for my samsung galaxy 3 tab, thanks!
It installed, but is now telling me I need to install the updated version. When I try to install the updated version, I'm back to square one! : (
Can you tell me the exact message you get when you try to install it?
Hello, and thanks for the article! I am using this on galaxy 3 tab and the video box appears (gray colored) but it does not play. No error message, just the gray box and no movie. Any ideas? (this is after installing flash player and trying firefox, the stock browser, and dolphin).
What browser are you using? What happens when you tap the gray box?
Hi Faisal,
Nothing happened, but I realized I needed to change a couple of settings in my dolphin browser.
I had to allow flash player to work and also change to desktop setting. Then it worked perfectly!
Thanks again!!
Awesome!
Hello Faisil and Mike et all, I also changed these Dolphin settings Mike pointed out and rebooted. Each time flash tries to play the content on espn980.com, the device stops w msg "Unfortunately, Dolphin Browser has stopped.
I have installed FLASH and noticed this in Firefox. Now Firefox redirects me to the play store for an app. Too bad this dumbs down my S3 to an iPhone. Any suggestions on how to get the flash at the above site to play? I hate to admit that this website was the only reason I bought the S3 as it used to work natively. Thanks!
What I found works on facebook any how when you want to watch videos that say requires adobe flash player, push on video & hold then choose option to open in other window, it atually opens up video, works great, I have samsung galaxy 3 tablet
Thanks June. I did exactly as your directions and even went to youtube and it works.
thx for the tips!! can finally watch live streams on my fone!!
I got the same message as martin. what should I do
What browser are you using?
I've tried these steps but I'm not getting any luck. It doesn't work on Firefox or stock browser on my S3.
Do you see Adobe installed when you look in your app drawer?
Yes. Flash Player is there.
Ok, when Flash content shows us, you should be able to simply tap the box and it should start playing. I tested this at Monoface and it worked perfectly.
I have installed this from your link but it will not work.
When I click the icon in my apps I just get a blank page :(
I downloaded the latest version 115.81 from archived site onto galaxy tab 3 and used mazilla fox but it would not show flash content when I tried to use it. on first trying it said plug in required. however no message comes up when trying to view flash now, just on the news video it says 'not supported'. can you assist please?
This worked great!! Thanks for taking the time to share the knowledge of this. I have 2 questions. I am not a computer savy person but I manage pretty well. I am wondering after the install I was given the option to view adobe flash player settings and pick/choose how to manage data storage...ie saved documents high scores in games etc. What should do? Next do I have to install a web browser like Firefox opera safari. I know from thew above that Chrome is not an option. Thanks to whomever reply's.
the download was succesfull and i can get into the facebook game. but it just last for a few second, and bring me out to my home screen.
Olá. O meu flash nao baixou. Oq eu faço?? Euclico para instalar e, depois de algum tempo ele só diz q nao foi possivel, mas nao diz o motivo. Meu tablet é o lg pad 8.3
